C<span class=\"yshortcuts\" id=\"lw_1288622452_0\">ornerback Terry Shankle<\/span> tore the ACL in his left knee in the <span class=\"yshortcuts\" id=\"lw_1288622452_1\">Tar Heels<\/span>&#8216; 21-17 victory over William &amp; Mary, the school announced.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;\"><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Consolas,Courier New,Courier;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;\">Shankle, a redshirt freshman from <\/span><span class=\"yshortcuts\" id=\"lw_1288622452_2\" style=\"font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;\">Norwood<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;\">,  N.C., will have surgery to repair his ACL in the next few weeks. &nbsp;He is out for the the rest of the season. &nbsp;Shankle had eight tackles and one  pass break up this year.<\/span><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s not like North Carolina needs to lose another football player, but Monday came more bad news for the Tar Heels.
