{"id":7063,"date":"2014-05-03T10:48:26","date_gmt":"2014-05-03T14:48:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/capitalsportsnc.com\/?p=7063"},"modified":"2014-05-05T10:53:52","modified_gmt":"2014-05-05T14:53:52","slug":"unc-tennis-coach-freshman-earn-all-acc-honors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/capitalsportsnc.com\/?p=7063","title":{"rendered":"UNC tennis coach, freshman earn All-ACC honors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><figure id=\"attachment_7064\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7064\" style=\"width: 163px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/capitalsportsnc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/braydenschnur.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/capitalsportsnc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/braydenschnur.jpg\" alt=\"Brayden Schnur.\" width=\"163\" height=\"255\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7064\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-7064\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Brayden Schnur.<\/figcaption><\/figure>North Carolina\u2019s Brayden Schnur was named ACC Freshman of the Year, while Tar Heels head coach Sam Paul was named ACC Coach of the Year for the sixth time in his career.<\/p>\n<p>Individual honors, as well as the All-ACC teams, were determined by a vote of the league\u2019s 12 head coaches.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia\u2019s Alex Domijan is the fourth Cavalier student-athlete to be named ACC Player of the Year.<\/p>\n<p>North Carolina\u2019s Schnur joins the likes of Paul Harsanyi (1994), Bjorn Rencken (1999) and Chris Kearney (2007) as Tar Heel student-athletes that have captured Freshman of the Year honors.<\/p>\n<p>Paul moved into a tie for first all-time for most ACC Men\u2019s Tennis Coach of the Year honors with Chuck Kriese (Clemson), Jay Lapidus (Duke) and Brian Boland (Virginia).<\/p>\n<p>Eleven ACC institutions had representatives on the All-ACC team, led by five honorees from Virginia. Duke had four representatives, while North Carolina, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest each had three members. Clemson, Florida State and NC State had two honorees apiece, while Georgia Tech and Miami rounded out the field with one representative each.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia\u2019s Domijan was the lone four-time selection on the All-ACC Team, with the Cavaliers\u2019 Mitchell Frank earning All-ACC honors for the third time in his career.
