{"id":96,"date":"2010-07-25T21:19:00","date_gmt":"2010-07-26T04:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/capitalsports.us\/?p=96"},"modified":"2011-01-15T15:05:39","modified_gmt":"2011-01-15T20:05:39","slug":"cary-legion-team-falls-in-11th-inning-moves-to-losers-bracket","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/capitalsportsnc.com\/?p=96","title":{"rendered":"Cary Legion team falls in 11th inning; moves to loser&#8217;s bracket"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cary Post 67 defeated Cherryville Post 100, 2-1, on Saturday but fell into the loser&#8217;s bracket of the American Legion State Tournament in Asheboro after losing to Randolph County by the same score Sunday night.<\/p>\n<p>Cary pitcher Daniel Sondag hit a Randolph batter with the bases loaded and two outs in the 11th inning for the loss. Post 67 had the lead into the eighth when Randolph tied it.<\/p>\n<p>Cary, 22-9, now plays Kernersville, a 13-3 victor over Rocky Mount, in an elimination game Monday at 4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Both tournament favorites &#8211; Rocky Mount and Wilmington, who entered the tourney with the best records &#8211; have been ousted from the tournament.
