Panthers coach Ron Rivera defends Colin Kaepernick’s right to sit, doesn’t endorse it

Speaking after Monday’s practice, Rivera said its San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s First Amendment right to sit in protest during the national anthem, which Kaepernick has done for each of the three exhibitions and plans to do for the foreseeable future. But Rivera said Kaepernick has that right because of the servicemen and women who have sacrificed before him.
