The N.C. High School Athletic Association has released the schedule for the 2023 football state championship games. The state championship games will be played on Dec. 8 and Dec. 9. NC State linebacker the top overall vote-getter for All-ACC football teams
Ahead of the 2023 ACC Football Championship game, the conference announced its All-ACC Football Teams on Tuesday. NC State linebacker Payton Wilson was the top overall vote-getter with 184 points. Wilson leads all ACC players with 138 total tackles, including 69 solo stops, to go along with six sacks. Please click here for more.
Leesville Road has 6 in double-figures in close win over Panther Creek
Leesville Road’s boys basketball team claimed a lead in the final two minutes of the game en route to an 85-81 win over Panther Creek on Tuesday night. ACC/SEC Challenge clash another full circle moment for Rick Barnes
Rick Barnes sat alongside Hubert Davis on the steps outside of George Mason’s gymnasium in the late 1980s. Barnes, then a first-time head coach, was recruiting Davis, a 6-foot-5 guard from nearby Lake Braddock Secondary School in Burke, Virginia. Davis was the first player that Barnes recruited and though he hadn’t fielded a lot of offers, the opportunity to play for the North Carolina Tar Heels where he had a family connection was too much to compete with.
