High school playoffs round up: Cleveland, Jordan, Gibbons, Millbrook advance
The No. 1 Cleveland Rams’ defeated No. 16 Ashley 21-3 in the second round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A football playoffs. They’ll play Durham Jordan which defeated Apex Friendship 41-14.

Carter-Finley, Kenan to host NCHSAA football championships; dates for other fall sports set
The North Carolina High School Athletic Association has announced the dates and locations for this year’s fall sports championships, and several of them will be in the Triangle. For the fourth year in a row, the football championships will be held at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh and Kenan Memorial Stadium in Chapel Hill on Dec. 20 and 21. Please click here for more.
NCHSAA Board of Directors Approves Fall Sport Season Modifications
The North Carolina High School Athletic Association’s Board of Directors met in Chapel Hill to discuss options for concluding the Fall Sports Season, including the postseason calendar. North Carolina judge rules public school athletes can profit from NIL
A North Carolina judge ruled Tuesday that public school athletes in the state can profit from NIL. The ruling stems from the lawsuit the mother of Class of 2026 Tennessee five-star quarterback commit Faizon Brandon brought against the North Carolina Board of Education and Department of Public Instruction. Wake County Superior Court Judge Graham Shirley made his ruling Tuesday. Please click here for more.
