Athens Drive senior Noah Valyo arrived at the Ivey M. Redmon Sports Complex in Kernersville for the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A state championship on Saturday running for a school that had never won a boys cross country individual state championship. Apex Friendship soccer avenges regular season losses, upsets Green Level in playoffs
Green Level beat Apex Friendship twice during the regular season en route to winning the Southwest Wake 4A Conference title, but the Patriots got the last win. Middle Creek advances to first volleyball state final with win over Green Hope

Millbrook holds off Wake Forest in a 45-42 shootout victory
Millbrook finished in sole possession of second place in the NAC 6 Conference thanks to a thrilling 45-42 victory over Wake Forest. By finishing in second place in the six-team league, the Wildcats are guaranteed a spot in the 4A East playoffs.
