The N.C. High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) officially returned on Wednesday with practices after being idle for 236 days because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. McMichael had one of the top 2A volleyball teams in North Carolina a season ago. The team finished 30-6 overall and tied atop the Mid-State Athletic 2A/3A split Conference with rival Person at 13-1. Only four schools from the eight-team league made the state playoffs, but sixth-seeded McMichael saw its season end by falling to (3) Ayden-Grifton in three sets during the third round on Halloween night. …read more
