On December 13th, the Carolina women’s basketball team entered the Associated Press Top 25 for the first time since the fall of 2015. For all but one week since, the Tar Heels have stayed in the AP rankings, hovering in the 20s and reaching as high as 19th. To the casual fan, the AP Top 25 has long been the standard to determine the best teams in America – and not without merit. While subjective, the poll does typically reflect team quality.
