Former Carolina Hurricanes TV play-by-play John Forslund joined the Hartford Whalers organization shortly before the franchise moved to North Carolina. A commitment from former GM Jim Rutherford allowed Forslund to grow his career at the same time as the Hurricanes were growing their fanbase.
