BLOOMINGTON, IND. – Senior James Joycey earned a ticket to Eugene, Ore., Wednesday as the North Carolina track and field team kicked off competition at the NCAA East Preliminary Round, hosted by Indiana. Competing at the Hoosiers’ Haught Track & Field Complex , Joycey placed third in the men’s hammer with a personal-best 227-4 (69.29m) to become the first Carolina competitor to qualify for the NCAA Championships, set for June 8-11 at Oregon’s Hayward Field. …read more
