The Carolina Hurricanes dropped a 5-4 overtime decision to the Washington Capitals but still gained ground on the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference. The Canes rallied from a 3-1 second period deficit and eventually grabbed a 4-3 lead in the 3rd. But, Alex Ovechkin’s 24th and 25th goals of the year gave the Caps the OT win. Victor Rask scored twice and Elias Lindholm and Tuevo Teravainen each lit the lamp as the Canes now embark on a 4 game road trip starting Thursday night in Pittsburgh. …read more
