Holliday: Duke does, Carolina doesn’t

It was arguably the most pivotal weekend of the season for Duke and North Carolina, each playing one of the Coastal Division’s perennial frontrunners. A Duke win against Georgia Tech, a UNC win against Virginia Tech would keep Coastal title hopes alive, a fact underscored by the loss of preseason favorite Miami to Virginia. Duke took control early in Atlanta, lost that control, but then finally seized command of the game for good late in the third quarter. Carolina, on the other hand, actually survived a shaky start to dominate Virginia Tech for much of Saturday night.
