Friday night in Eastern North Carolina included various rivalries and some very intriguing games between ranked teams. No. 9 Tarboro pulled away to beat SouthWest Edgecombe in the Function at the Junction and Beddingfield held off Hunt in a Wilson clash. In Pitt County, 4-0 Ayden Grifton routed North Pitt 44-12 in a 2A matchup. In a couple of ranked matchups, No. 13 New Bern topped No. 12 Jacksonville 26-23 and No. 11 Northeastern beat Rocky Mount 21-6. Both of those upsets came on the road. …read more
