Five-Star UNC Basketball Commit Set to Officially Silence Rumors

For months, there has been chatter about Our Saviour Lutheran School (N.Y.) senior guard Ian Jackson potentially backing out of his UNC basketball commitment to play for St. John’s head coach Rick Pitino. That’s despite the 6-foot-5, 185-pound five-star consistently denying any substance to that chatter. Saturday morning, Jackson will put the rumors to rest by signing his national letter of intent.

James Brown Grateful to Sign with UNC basketball

James Brown is officially a Tar Heel. He signed his National Letter of Intent on Wednesday morning during a ceremony at Branson (Mo.) Link Academy. Brown, a 6-foot-9 forward originally from Aurora, Ill., committed to UNC on Jan. 2. He’s the No. 68-ranked player in the senior class. He chose UNC over offers from Arizona State, Duke, Florida, Harvard, Illinois, Indiana, Marquette, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, Notre Dame, LSU, Ohio State, and Oklahoma, among others. Bulls manager Michael Johns named Tampa Bay Rays first base coach

The Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday announced that 2023 Durham Bulls manager Michael Johns has been named the club’s First Base Coach for the upcoming 2024 campaign. Johns joins former Bulls catcher and current Tampa Bay skipper Kevin Cash’s staff one year after 2019-22 Bulls manager Brady Williams was tabbed Tampa Bay’s Third Base Coach.
